Penny Lane Jazz Ensemble 7:15 – 9:15 pm
The Penny Lane Jazz Ensemble (PLJE) performs Beatles’ songs in the style of classic 1950s and 1960s era R&B and soul jazz. Think of it as Liverpool meets Memphis. Our set features rocking tunes from “I Feel Fine” by the Beatles to “I Feel Good” by James Brown. Our more mellow melodies range from Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” to Lennon & McCartney’s “Black Bird.”
We draw from the R&B and soul musicians who influence the Beatles like Wilson Pickett, as well as jazz innovators, like Horace Silver. Our music appeals to a wide audience from Baby Boomers to Millennials. PLJE offers a laid back show perfect for all ages, yet with a level of musical sophistication heavy duty music fans can appreciate. We can provide our own sound system that is suitable for indoor and most outdoor events.
